Gli MTV Video Music Awards 2012 si svolti ieri 6 settembre a Los Angeles. Sotto l’elenco dei vincitori del riconoscimento, che hanno ritirato il premio durante una serata che ha visto alternarsi sul palco le esibizioni delle avanguardie commerciali della musica di massa 2012 con poche concessioni alla qualità: tra queste da segnalare il ritorno on stage dei Green Day defezionari a Bologna pochi giorni fa, Alicia Keys, e Taylor Swift che ha chiuso l’edizione cantando il suo nuovo singolo.
